A sweet, dear dog was left on the side of the road in a cage with all of his toys. The poor thing was just sitting there waiting for someone to come for him!
When some residents of a quiet Massachusetts town were out for a walk one morning a few weeks ago, they came across a shocking sight. There was a sweet dog sitting in his crate with also his toys, alone on the side of the road.
The 2 year old Maltese dog was in his crate with his leash, blanket, food, coat and also all of his toys, according to the Hingham Police Department.
It seems like this sweet dog was not there for a long time. It was maybe an hour before these people saw him and quickly freed him from his crate and also rescued from the freezing temperatures. The dog was in a friendly neighborhood street. That also suggests that whoever left him there wanted someone to find him and take care of him.
They took the sweet dog to the Animal Rescue League of Boston (ARL). There the vets checked him out and concluded that he was very healthy. The Maltese dog was clearly incredibly grateful to his rescuers for saving him from the cold. He also loves hanging out with staff at the shelter.
The dog did not have a microchip and also did not have any identification on him. The authorities are currently investigating this situation. “Our effort now is to investigate the circumstances, including locating the real owner,” the Hingham Police Department writes on its Facebook page. “If adoption becomes necessary down the road, we will give any relevant updates on time”.
For now, this sweet dog will remain in the care of ARL. He is happy and also healthy and safely away from the freezing Massachusetts streets. If you have any information on this dog, feel free to contact the Hingham Police Department at (781) 749-1212 or also the ARL’s Law Enforcement Department at (617) 226-5610.
