A man writes a really poweful and touching letter to his deceased dog that leaves everyone who reads it in tears! It got me crying like a baby!
Dog owners share such an unbreakable bond with their pets that is really unlike anything else in the world. Sometimes, they are really inseparable, and they will do practically everything together that they can. A man named Kris from Prestonburg, Kentucky knows all of this this all too well. To commemorate the life of his beloved dog Jessie, who recently passed away, Kris wrote her a touching letter to show just how much he missed her. It will leave you in a puddle of tears.
when I first adopted you, I whispered to you ‘You gotta live forever, okay?’ Over the years when I would imagine life without you, I would say again to you, ‘You gotta live forever, okay?’” he writes. “My body still wants to take you for a nice walk. Your leash still hangs by the door just waiting for the words ‘wanna go outside?’ It’s been raining a lot this week and I instinctively look at the clock to see if it is near the time to take you out,” the letter continues.
Kris continues to write about the experiences with Jessie that meant the world to him. “Whenever I eat some crackers or chips, I look to see where you are so I can throw you some,” he says while reminiscing about days past. He even talks about what made Jessie so special to him. “You were really the perfect dog for me. So quiet…and so calm. You never peed or also chewed on anything. You barked so infrequently that you would scare yourself when you actually did”.
“Jessie, you were with me through all of the good times and all of the bad,” Kris continues in his touching letter. “You never judged me, even when I weighed 200 pounds and was also sweating to the oldies. You just always had a wag of the tail for me”. “I simply loved how I could always trust you with any child,” he comments about Jessie’s calm demeanor with children. “When you got a bit older and a little bit more grey in the face, some of the neighbor kids started calling you Granny”.
“Even when you could no longer chew the hard kibble and also you were not so interested in your toys, and had to be walked more often, I loved you so much,” Kris writes to his best friend. A man’s bond with his dog does not end just when his puppy gets older. Kris’s touching letter was truthful and also sad at times, but its power was never in question. He clearly loved Jessie so very much. “You trusted me just right up to the end. You believed me when I told you that you did not have to live forever and it is OK to go”.
“I felt the life leave your body and you also took a piece of me with you,” Kris said while recounting the deep impact that Jessie had on his life in just a short period of time. It was really clear that they were truly best friends. “I love you sweet Jessie girl, and I will see you at the bridge. 1998-2016,” Kris’s heart-wrenching letter to Jessie ends.
It goes without saying that his tribute to his beloved dog resonated with so many people all around the world.
