This woman gets a super sweet tattoo to match her dear rescue dog!
Vanessa Marie Rose and her best friend Toby been through really a lot, but they found each other at just the right time. Toby is a sweet, rescue dog from a high kill shelter in Ohio. He spent more than over six years trapped in a small cage, let out only for breeding or a really rare run. This woman gets a matching tattoo to show support to Toby and what he went through.
The sweet dog had back problems, and other health issues too. He also suffers from serious anxiety after years of mistreatment. Toby had a physically abusive owner, and another who did not think he was a good dog and a good pet, and then he finally met Vanessa.
He ended up in this rescue shelter called Snookie’s Society. That is where I found him,” Vanessa says. “And I just had to take him and save him”. Vanessa got him just as she was also dealing with her own mental health problems. They really saved each other`s lives. “He kind of rescued me more than I actually rescued him,” she says. “Honestly, I do not know what I would do without him around”.
So to celebrate their special bond, Vanessa got a tattoo to match the one a previous owner put on dear Toby’s ear.
“This poor dog suffered so much and then he got marked. For me, I felt like this was something that I wanted to do in solidarity,” says Vanessa. “He is going to be my little special buddy forever no matter what happens”.
Toby`s anxiety is slowly but surely improving for better. Vanessa even brings him to work with her, where they call him “Chief Cuddle Officer”. “People that see him now compared to months ago say on how he is always smiling and tail wagging too,” says Vanessa. He just needed someone to give him a chance.
